Matthew Newell, LPC

Let's talk about reclaiming your empowerment. You deserve to feel in control.

I realized at a young age how healing it can be to have someone to talk to without feeling judged or the pressure of expectations.

My favorite part of counseling is getting to be present when someone has a new realization or is able to regain control over parts of their life that previously felt hopeless. I truly want to provide people space to find solutions, learn new coping skills, and strengthen their problem-solving abilities for use in everyday life.

Sessions move at a pace that is comfortable for you. We’ll address the concerns that brought you to the session while also allowing you to be a whole person rather than just a patient.

"Matthew is highly personable, down-to-earth, and truly outstanding. He's one of those people you feel like you've known forever… he makes it easy to open up and talk through a challenge."
"Literally the exact person that's perfect for teen guys or adult men. It's so hard to find a male therapist who is actually really good at what he does. Matthew is awesome."
"He is a natural problem-solver and great with offering new insights and helpful ideas but he also knows how to slow down to help people actually process difficult things so they can heal from painful experiences."

Everybody wants to feel their best but sometimes challenges get in the way. Without a safe space to talk with a completely non-judgmental person on your side, it might be hard to move forward. Sessions with me should feel relaxed, genuine, and inviting so you can truly be honest about where you are at and where you want to go.

My approach is heavily grounded in empowerment because I believe healing is possible when we feel empowered to make our own choices and steer our lives forward. I will never make assumptions about you or hold power in our relationship. Instead, I will seek to listen and understand you, your feelings, thoughts, ideas, and goals. I would be honored to partner with you on your journey to wellness.
