Lisa Mathis, LMSW

You are the master of your domain. I'm here to walk alongside you.

I view myself as a guide on your journey to self-discovery and acceptance.

Becoming a therapist was a natural journey for me. For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in helping people become their best possible selves. Human resiliency is amazing! It allows me to see the possible in situations that appear impossible. I enjoy walking alongside my clients in their journey and helping them see the sun and hope in situations that appear dark and hopeless.

I will always provide a space for you to be unapologetically you! I’m a good listener.

We can go as fast or as slow as you would like.

Life is challenging. At some point in life, we all need help. Although I believe everyone is the expert of their own lives, it can be helpful to have a guide who can offer an alternate route or a different perspective to assist us with reaching our destination in a safer and sometimes quicker timeframe. We all need to feel heard, appreciated, and valued.

My approach to therapy is client-centered. I strive to provide a safe, non-judgmental, accepting therapy environment where people can feel free to be themselves and express their thoughts, worries, goals, experiences, and ideas without constraints.

FAVORITE SELF-CARE

I find peace in prayer and meditation. I also enjoy sitting and taking in the beauty of this earth:  sunrise, sunset, sitting at the lake viewing the water, smelling the rain on a warm summer day. I also enjoy gardening… feeling the soil in my hands and watching life sprout a new.
