EMDR Therapist

Allow yourself to heal and grow through authentic expression.

It’s a privilege and an honor to accompany you on this sacred journey of self-discovery and healing. My role is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can fully express yourself and explore your experiences without reservation. Through deep listening and validation, I aim to create an environment where you feel heard, understood, and accepted just as you are.

By building a trusting and authentic connection, we lay the groundwork for meaningful transformation.

In our sessions, I utilize a range of different therapeutic modalities tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for trauma work, which incorporates bilateral stimulation to help clients process traumatic memories and alleviate associated symptoms, promoting healing and resolution of trauma-related distress. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into our sessions to help clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, improving interpersonal relationships, and increasing distress tolerance.

When relevant, I also use an IFS-informed approach, which acknowledges and explores the internal dynamics of your whole self, recognizing the presence of various “parts” or aspects of self. This approach fosters understanding, healing, and integration of these parts, ultimately promoting greater self-awareness and wholeness. Recognizing that each individual client is unique, and may also incorporate cognitive-behavioral strategies, strengths-based skills, mindfulness, and Somatic Experiencing techniques, which focus on addressing the physiological manifestations of trauma and stress by facilitating a reconnection with bodily sensations.

As a therapist, I deeply acknowledge and honor the uniqueness of each individual. While I bring a diverse range of training and expertise in various modalities to our sessions, I recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. Instead, I approach each person with an open mind and a commitment to collaborating together to design a treatment plan that is as unique as you are. Together, we will explore different techniques and skills, tailoring our sessions to your specific needs, preferences, and goals. Through collaboration and mutual respect, we will find the combination of strategies that resonate most with you, empowering you to embark on a journey of growth, healing, and self-discovery.

I love helping people. Nothing brings me more joy than when a client feels a release of their previous emotional pain, or can see a different perspective. Sometimes they learn a new skill and now they can see how their world is shifting for the better, accomplishing the goals they set out and achieving healing they didn’t even know was possible. Each breakthrough, each moment of realization, is like a beacon of hope illuminating the path towards healing and personal development.

To anyone feeling nervous about starting therapy, I want to assure you that your feelings are completely understandable. Taking the step to open up to a therapist, someone you’ve never met before, can feel incredibly vulnerable. I’ve been in that position myself, seeking help and feeling unsure about what to expect. I want you to know that I see myself as your cheerleader in this journey. When you come to a session with me, you can expect a safe and supportive environment where you are free to express yourself openly and without fear of judgment. Empathy and understanding are foundational to my approach. I strive to meet you where you are and walk alongside you on your journey.

No matter what experiences or behaviors you bring to the table, I will work to normalize them, recognizing that each person’s struggles are valid and worthy of attention. My goal is to provide skillful listening, attentively tuning in to your words, emotions, and body language to gain a deep understanding of your unique situation. It would be an honor to accompany you on your journey and to support you in becoming the person you want to be.

FAVORITE SELF-CARE

I love brisk walking with friends or family while chatting about life. I take a hot bath every night and love it! That’s how I decompress from the day. I also love drinking a hot tea, and getting massages, facials, and mani-pedis.

LIFE MOTTO
