Sometimes we feel stuck and need guidance and support to feel balanced and able to face challenges again. I offer that support in a non-judgmental, safe, and comfortable environment where you are the expert in your life and your values and beliefs are honored and respected.
I provide talk therapy using a holistic, person-centered approach that focuses on goals identified by you with guidance and collaboration with me toward those goals. Together, we will explore your challenges, wants and needs, and hopes and dreams. My job is to help you not only begin to realize those dreams but empower you with the knowledge and skills to continue your journey beyond therapy.
My specialties include Relationships, Life Transitions, Anxiety and Depression, Sexual Attraction and Gender Expansive Identities, Interfaith and Non-Traditional Spirituality, and Sexuality (across the lifespan and alternative practices).
I’m passionate about LGBTQIA+ issues and have trained in the San Francisco State University’s Family Acceptance Project model of family preservation, developing research-based knowledge & skills in helping culturally diverse families to understand their LGBTQIA+ identified children.
I also enjoy participating in advocacy efforts in the greater Detroit community. I serve on of the Board of Directors of Berkley Pride and was a member of Southeast Michigan Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Health Equity Counsel. I’m a current member of American Counseling Association (ACA), and Society for Sexual, Affectional, Intersex, and Gender Expansive Identities (SAIGE).
My self-care includes cooking my favorite things for the people I love! I also enjoy gaming and snuggling with my cats.
Do No Harm. It’s very simple but deeply profound. It makes me think about everything outside of myself in all parts of life.
You matter.
You’re never alone.
We care about you.
