I’m Devan, a Psychiatric Physician Assistant with a passion for holistic mental health and wellness. While I have the ability to evaluate for medication needs, my overall approach is rooted in compassion and a deep understanding of the multifaceted nature of mental well-being. I believe that your journey to mental health is unique, and I am here to create a safe space where you can explore memories and experiences that may be confusing, sensitive, or challenging.

Beyond medication assessments, my ultimate goal is to empower you to implement practices that resonate with your individual needs, allowing you to live your best life. I understand that mental health is not a one-size-fits-all journey, and I tailor my approach to meet your unique circumstances. 

In our collaborative work, I strive to be compassionate and validating, providing support as you navigate your path to wellness. In addition, I bring an assertive and empowering energy to our sessions, particularly for those seeking tools, concepts, and breakthrough opportunities. I’ve always found the intricate tapestry of psychology fascinating, drawing inspiration from various philosophical traditions such as stoicism, Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, and more. Also with a background in occupational therapy, I’m honored to bring a unique perspective to the realm of mental health treatment, weaving together diverse concepts to foster resilience and wellness.

During our time together, your well-being takes center stage. I offer my full attention, coupled with compassion, thoughtful questions, and a commitment to accountability. Together, utilizing Compassion Focused, Mindfulness-Based (MBCT), and Motivational Interviewing techniques, we will reframe perspectives, build a support system, and encourage positive change. FAVORITE SELF-CARE

Self-care is at the core of well-being, and I use various practices to nurture my own health. For example, exercise not only enhances wellness but also fosters empowerment and a profound sense of well-being. Movement becomes a conduit for not only physical health but also mental and emotional strength.

In my personal philosophy, I find inspiration in the timeless concepts of stoicism and Taoism. The principles of stoicism, emphasizing resilience in the face of challenges, and Taoism, promoting harmony and balance, resonate deeply with my approach to self-care. These philosophies guide me in navigating life’s complexities with grace.

Mindfulness and the practice of being present are also integral components of my self-care routine. Cultivating mindfulness allows me to immerse myself fully in the present moment, appreciating the richness of each experience. It serves as a grounding force, helping me find balance amid life’s demands.

My favorite motto is “Momento Mori: remember we all must die.” Some might feel this concept provokes sadness and melancholy but mortality can, if we allow it, teach us to infuse our lives with gratitude for this day, this moment and for the people that love and support us.
