Christina Negrete, MPH, RDN, CDN

Reclaim food freedom and body liberation... because EVERY body is worthy.

I became a Registered Dietitian because I am determined to bridge the gap between the lack of healthcare and nutrition education in underserved, minority communities. As a Latina who grew up in an area with a shortage of healthcare professionals and resources, I quickly learned about the gaps and injustices that exist in not only healthcare but also in obtaining basic living necessities. I dedicated my academic career to gaining knowledge on how to serve and give back to my community in ways that expand beyond my lived experiences.

I am passionate about helping individuals build joyful, healing relationships with food and their bodies, as well as supporting people with various medical conditions that can be improved with gentle nutrition. I utilize a weight-inclusive approach to my work and practice from a Health At Every Size® (HAES®) lens. I believe that it is important to meet people where they are in order to help them move toward where they want to be.

FAVORITE SELF-CARE

My favorite ways to practice self-care include skin care, doing my nails and trying out fun designs, baking and experimenting in the kitchen, trying new foods, and embroidery. I of course enjoy all of these activities the most when I’m doing them while listening to music. I can easily get lost in the music and spend hours making playlists. I also love walks with my pup and taking him to new places. He likes being my sous chef and will sometimes be my taster, for quality assurance, of course!

FUN FACTS

  • Food is my love language – it brings me joy to bake or cook for others and see them enjoy it.
  • Because I grew up in California, I can’t imagine myself living somewhere that doesn’t allow me easy-ish access to the ocean or some body of water. The smell of the ocean makes me feel at home!
  • I love boba. I enjoy going to different boba places and trying new flavors – although, brown sugar milk tea with pearls and egg pudding will always be my #1.

LIFE MOTTO

  • Be big. Be bold. Take up space. You don’t owe the world anything to have to make yourself small.
  • “Sometimes you just have to try, even if you know it won’t work.” – Junot Diaz
